Challenge
XOCEAN's story extended beyond its vessels, but every audience needed a different route into the wider data platform.
Energy partners needed to understand data quality, applications and environmental value. Investors required a credible picture of global capability and growth, while prospective hires needed context on the company and its work. The site also had to be ready for important funding and growth communications. The challenge was to make those paths legible without simplifying the technical detail that gives XOCEAN its authority.
Solution
The digital story shifted from individual vessels to an integrated view of global ocean data capability.
UX architecture, web design, data portal interface direction, brand strategy and technical SEO were combined within one platform. The structure connects fleet information, sector applications, carbon impact messaging, recruitment, partner proof and search content without splitting them into separate stories. Different visitors can reach relevant detail quickly, while the wider proposition remains coherent across the site.
Process
A two month programme prioritised the decisions that would improve comprehension and confidence fastest.
We established the core hierarchy, developed a data led visual language and wrote practical explanations of USV capability for specialist and non-specialist audiences. GDPR aware technical foundations and SEO around hydrographic USV data and offshore wind survey needs supported the build. Working at pace meant focusing on the content relationships and interface decisions most valuable to enterprise, investor and recruitment users.
The project, in sequence.

Explaining technical capability?
Technical buyers want the detail and everyone else wants the summary, usually from the same page. Deciding what goes where is most of the work.
