Starting condition

What needed to change

Calls, direct messages and manual lists were creating avoidable work at exactly the moments the venue was busiest.

Customers did not always have one predictable route to reserve a table, while staff had to reconcile demand across several channels. The website also had an opportunity to use local search and review signals more effectively when people were deciding where to go. Any improvement had to support bookings and day to day operations without smoothing away the warmth, energy and local character people associate with The Red Hen.

The decisions

What was decided, and why

The thinking, as it was published.

  2. Branding, web design, reservation UX and local SEO came together in a hospitality focused platform. Copper tones, industrial typography and the venue's low light atmosphere carry into the interface, while the reservation path gives customers a more direct next step and staff a more practical way to handle demand. The result supports booking behaviour without making the digital experience feel detached from the bar itself.

  3. We considered how people choose a night out: finding nearby options, checking atmosphere and reviews, confirming practical details and booking from a phone. Local SEO and review prompts supported relevant Limerick searches, while the booking interface stayed direct and recognisably branded. Connecting those moments reduced uncertainty for guests and created a more coherent route from initial discovery to a confirmed visit.

How the work moved

The guest journey was mapped from local search and social proof through to reservation and arrival.
